Abram Games

When I was at school, I thought my path would lead to a job in Graphic Design. Things didn’t work out as planned but I still have a huge appreciation for art.

Today, I read an article on Abram Games and his war-time posters. I had a look through his work and picked out a couple of my favorites which are posted below.

The one for London Transport (1937) is amazing. I love the simplicity, the colors, shapes and shadows used. Modern, yet Retro all at the same time.

The “Grow Your Own Food” poster further below is from 1942. Again, I love his use of bold colors. I really like how the spade doubles as a ship.
