  • Our God – Chris Tomlin
  • How He Loves – John Mark McMillan
  • Whole World In His Hands – Matt Redman

Week 2 of Childlike Faith at Story Church.  This week Jeremy talked about David and Goliath, and how David’s confidence was in his God.  Goliath had defied Israel and David just knew that God, his heavenly Father, would have his back if he stood up to this giant.

What spoke to me this morning was that David did not get his value or confidence from his earthly Father, his brothers or his leaders.  He got it from his Heavenly Father.  He knew that regardless of all the tasks he had been given that day (deliver cheeses, bring the sheep in, etc.) that he was called for this very moment.

So, this can be applied to your current job situation, your circle of friends, your family and even your church leaders.  Don’t look to these places for your value.  It only matters what God thinks about you.  He has every confidence in you.  Have every confidence in Him.

We had Katie join us today on vocals.  She did a fantastic job and even raised the bar a little by memorizing the words.  I’m pretty excited now to have extra vocalists on stage with me most weeks.  It’s going to help us expand on our range of songs and styles.

We introduced Whole World In His Hands this morning.  It’s not one of favourite songs but I felt it would work well with the theme today.  I’m glad I used it and we’ll sing it again in a couple of weeks.
